California. Spring Break. Film.

I told you last time that in my last set of scans I got some back from one of our family vacations. In the past I’ve hesitated to take any of my nice cameras on vacations. I’m afraid of them getting ruined or stolen. Usually I take a digital point and shoot, but this time I knew we’d be going to the beach, and one of Jason’s friends had agreed to give Brendan a surfing lesson. I decided it would be fun to take my little 35mm film camera and some black and white film to try out.

Sorry for the overload of images. I had fun! Also, I ended up opening the back with film still in it (sob) because I thought I rewound it at the beach already when it was done…so there are a few frames that were exposed. I think they were the ones of my son surfing (sob again). These images are as I got them back from the lab. I loved them just as they were and didn’t want to adjust anything on them.

This is what I love about film. Such an incredible, nostalgic feeling. Something I haven’t experienced with digital images.
